Arrow on Netflix

Arrow on Netflix

Dividing its fan base more and more with each season, Arrow is one of those shows which start off great but go in a totally different direction as they progress. Arguably a totally different show than what we had in season 1, Arrow is about to make a return with its sixth season this summer. So, is Arrow on Netflix, and if so, how updated is the Arrow Netflix page? For short, the answer to the first question is ‘Yes’. But before we take a look at what influences the status of the Netflix Arrow page, let’s talk about the show for a bit:

Arrow

The action crime TV series Arrow is based on the Green Arrow – a DC comics crime-fighter whose weapons of choice are the bow and arrow. The show premiered on CW in 2012 and follows the life of Oliver Queen right after his return from a trip that ended with him being stranded on a hostile island for 5 years. But he comes back as a very different man as he starts to fight corruption and criminals as soon as he returns.

The show stars Stephen Amell, Willa Holland, David Ramsey, Emily Bett Rickards, John Barrowman, Katie Cassidy, and Paul Blackthorne, and it has spawned two spin-offs. It has also given birth to the CW DC Universe, which includes The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl.

For those who haven’t watched the show, we recommend that they go binge watch the series, as most of the episodes of Arrow on Netflix can be found without any issues. For those familiar with the show, and excited about season 5, the season 5 trailer can be found below:

Is Arrow on Netflix?

Yes! The first 5 seasons of Arrow are currently streaming in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Serbia. Nevertheless, if you’re living in the rest of the world, you can still watch parts of this show. Seasons 1-4 are streaming on Netflix Australia, Australia, Bangladesh, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Iceland, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, Spain, Switzerland, and the US.

Seasons 1-3 of Arrow are on Netflix Argentina, Brazil, Denmark, Peru, South Africa, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates. You can find out more about the availability of the 4th season of Arrow in our article on Arrow Season 4 on Netflix.

But why is it that countries like Serbia, Belgium, or the Netherlands have access to all four seasons of Arrow on Netflix, while the US can only access the first three?

When a television network buys or owns the rights to a TV show, the legal circumstances surrounding making them available to the public become problematic. So, in order to avoid this, Netflix chooses to not update the past season of a show as long as it is still running on television. So, if your country happens to be currently airing the last season of the show to come out, the Netflix page for that show will be missing its latest season. However, once the show starts airing its next season, the previous one will be updated on the streaming service. The case is the same for Arrow on Netflix.

Conclusion

Perhaps one of the most fan-debated TV shows of the past decade, Arrow has certainly had its ups and downs. You can watch most seasons of Arrow on Netflix at any given point, so following it will be a given. Until next time, be mindful of how and what you binge watch!
